What Is Spirit And Why Should You Care?
Understanding the nature of Spirit can come to you when you reduce the interpretations of your intellect and ego in favor of communicating with the living spiritual genius within you, your Higher Self. Often spiritual practices are used to forge a link between the known and the unknown aspects of being, but this communication can also be as easily facilitated by an immersion in sensory symbolic descriptions of reality like art, music, and poetry. In either case, whether your entry into the frequency of the higher dimensions is through spiritual practices or engaging in artistic appreciation, the historically conditioned mind, quick to limit everything to mere analysis, to rapid comparison and contrast with similar past information recorded in memory, finds itself preempted by intuition and emotion. Reflecting on subjective experiences, on subtle, inner experiences brings you closer to truth. You discover that truth is alive and well inside yourself, for this is the realm of eternal reality, and this truth is much more reliable than what you discover outside yourself. What you discover outside is a mere reflection of yourself, the realm of temporary forms and fleeting perceptions. The inner self is the creative urge of consciousness. Outside it, you witness the manifestations it has spun from its thoughts and feelings. When you connect this spontaneous knowing of your true nature with the divine within, you also awaken the connection you have with all beings everywhere in all dimensions of the multiverse. This is awakening to the living truth that has always been inside of you but that you were too unconscious to access before. This living truth is always relevant because it aligns with the universal field of pure intelligence called Spirit. The role of Spirit in relation to the self is to inform the being about new perspectives. This new understanding is experienced as sudden, inexplicable intuitions, a direct knowing of what experiences in your life mean. This inner-directed attention is not isolated to introspection but influences behavioral changes and this creates a different way of living in the world. This shift is choosing to experience the passage of life for its own sake--and not merely for biological rewards that satiate the primal need for physical survival. This new awareness is not a mind-generated approach, but a heart-centered one. You see all beings as reflections of the same consciousness that animates and informs you, regardless of their understanding about the things that resonate in your world. Allowing yourself to be open to Spirit, however you understand it, is to invite an elusive living force of perfect intelligence to reshape your life, opening your heart to the sensibilities of love, appreciation, understanding, compassion, and courage. Spiritual understanding beyond inculcated learning is a naturally unfolding knowing that comes from preferring the subjective to the objective, the inner to the outer, the self to the world. It is an understanding that creates an expansion of consciousness. Engaging the divine within by accessing the whisperings of Spirit also disengages you from participating with the dark forces built into all social orders; disruptive forces who seek to subtly manipulate you to be less expressive, creative, and curious about life; dark forces that seek to engage you in their games of destruction. This disengagement not only protects you from flirting with disaster, but it also frees your attention to focus on the deeper things that matter in life. Refusing to participate in the agendas that stimulate base egoic drives is not an act of separation but one of compassion. For the first time, rather than reacting with habitual fear and frustration to the multiple expressions of malevolence, you see how these dark forces, aspects of consciousness that have chosen to scramble for petty gains, have lost their way. You see these lost souls lusting for fool’s gold as we approach a golden age. Your inner, deeper self has a purpose for being here other than entertainment. You are not here merely to accumulate fleeting assets that never fully satisfy an expansive ego. Your purpose here is to become heart-centered, intelligent and aware, harmonious with all aspects of life, creative and ingenious, and astute in navigating past the shadows of illusion. You are here to function at a higher frequency, rising to a vibration where experiencing unity consciousness is effortless. Spirit is the universal field of consciousness that helps you quicken the pace of your soul’s evolution. By aligning with it, you raise your own consciousness. How this alignment happens is something that many people in our world are now discovering, people who have an interest in establishing a portal of loving-kindness in the world, people who are not frightened by the posturing of those championing the needs of lower frequency desires. Awakening souls seek to engage Spirit because it stimulates heightened perception, intuitive knowing, and an imperceptible adjustment of the life force, directing intelligence to fully discover itself as an expression of the divine. It also creates a natural desire to help, not hurt other beings. A person who looks to Spirit rather than matter, finds matter, too, changes, shifting from evasive to embracing, life-threatening to life-celebrating. The scarcity principles that create problematic lives, a condition that arises form the ego battling the world, will also be removed, for Spirit knows only abundance, plenty, cornucopia. It overflows in wealth, wealth beyond measure. In all of this contemplation of the nature of Spirit, how do you go about aligning with it? Obviously, the egoic self is not aware of how to birth a happy life. It only deals with calculating the probabilities of surviving in a shifting world. It has no interest in engaging higher frequency information. Although no-one can answer this pertinent question, for the ways of Spirit are elusive and mysterious and beyond finding out, asking the question is enough, the willingness to ask it is enough, and the willingness to wait patiently for an answer is enough--for Spirit itself will answer in its own way, a way that is right just for you, a way that fits your unique attunement to sentience.
