An Iron Will Sustains Worlds
What is an iron will and why do we need it now more than ever before? Perhaps, it's time to remember the words of Swami Vivekananda when he spoke of the difficult times of India under British rule. “My countrymen should have nerves of steel, muscles of iron, and minds like thunderbolts.” Today, everyone in every country, has to remember to seize this level of courage and resolution. All around us, I see the world collapsing because we have, as individuals and collectively, dissipated our free will, and forgotten that we are souls, and as souls we are beyond what happens to our bodies. We are, in fact, sentient forms, psychic currents, iron wills. We are not flesh, but spirit, not merely men and women, but heroes and heroines of spiritual advancement. War and famine, hyperinflation, the ruthless march of the secret agendas are crushing humanity, and we, too, individually, are feeling the loss of power, place, and presence. Today, at the closing of this year, 2009, we are approaching levels of crisis, calamity, and catastrophe the likes of which we have never known in our own lifetimes. Rather than crumble under the weight of our oppressors, we have to rise and speak our truth and express the best that is in us. We are beings of light, of power, of self-determination--if we allow ourselves to be. And success, in ourselves, our fellow human beings, and in the world as a whole is possible, if we choose to take a stand, however humble. We can change what is happening in us and around us if we choose to stand in the light of our own will, our free will, our iron will. Success is about choice, focus, and commitment. It's about staying in the flow. It’s about believing in impossible things before breakfast and going to bed with the same strength of conviction. Goal setting, planning, taking massive action, and abiding by the law of attraction are wonderful strategies, but without sustained faith, this simple ingredient that moves mountains, it all comes to nothing. Self-betrayal, often at an unconscious level, is what prevents people from owning their own power. The reason why people fail is because they fail to stay on course, buckling under mood swings, fluctuating circumstances, and other people’s words of disapproval. Relying on external motivation and incentives can undermine the clearest intentions and the best laid plans. It is only an iron will--the psychic current of hope when things appear hopeless that will sustain us. Those who succeed do so because they become their own loci of approval, constantly encouraging themselves, and even in their bleakest moments, they know, somehow, that what they dream about has the right to exist. While everything changes, one thing must remain stable, an abiding faith, an ever-renewing hope in the promise of fulfilling humanitarian ideals. The way to endure is to believe in a dream of a better world, both for ourselves and everyone else. We simply have to believe in the integrity, wholeness, power, and sustainability of our dreams when we have no shred of evidence that they will ever see the light of day. Our dreams of well-being, of sustained life, of renewed commitment to noble ideals will exist, if we stay the course, if we continue to pour our psychic energy into them. If we continue to nurture our dreams on an invisible dimension, if we continue to hold them in our hearts and minds they will happen. They have to happen--because, we, in our essence, are the creative force of the universe, and an iron will is a psychic energy that will never stop moving forward until it has achieved its three-dimensional hologram, one that can be seen and touched and fully experienced by all who abide in any consensus reality. Recall the words of the sage, Anwar Ibrahi, “The will of man is stronger than iron bars.” We must find our will to live, to sustain all that is noble and best in us. It means much to have free will, and it means even more to have an iron will when it seems that nothing works anymore. Nothing is impossible to those who lean on their spirit to see them through the darkest nights, the most dire circumstances, and the emptiest of emotions. Nothing is impossible to those who awaken their sleeping wills. The world is will and idea. An iron will is the answer to calamity and crisis. It births purpose, vision, and hope when there are no grounds for belief. We are spirit, we are light, we will never die. Worlds may rise and fall but we, in essence, always abide.
