How To Get Your Personal Power Back And Win Big In Life
What is personal power and how can you get it back if you’ve lost it? If you’re in a difficult life situation, with insufficient income, lonely, ill, or experiencing some other hobbling condition, don’t despair. You can heal the situation and get your life back. It all begins and ends with self-validation. First, what is this elusive quality that everyone wants but few appear to have? It is simply the power to be uniquely and completely yourself--without apology, remorse, or fear of retribution for truly expressing your personality. Personal power has nothing to do with your roster of contacts, your list of skills, your proven talents, your Myers Brigg typology, or the amount of money you have in your bank account. It has nothing to do with anything external. All success assets, internal and external, are only expressions of personal power, the result of expressing it in the world. They are the effects, not the cause. Personal power is assumed not given, a gift of free will, not a product of a perfect storm that equipped you to handle life remarkably well. It can be as simple as saying “no” to tyranny and as complex as discovering the Theory of Relativity in your home office. If your life is not going well for you, it’s because you’ve somehow lost your sense of your own personal power. You've embraced negative thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and this has resulted in your lack of assertion over oppressive circumstances. With this wahnsinn, this sense of illusion, you've let things get increasingly worse. You haven’t lost your personal power, you've simply abandoned it. The good news is that you can get it back. All of it. Every last bit of it. It may take a little time, but it will be time well spent. The bad news is that you have to make an effort at it. You've let yourself be negatively influenced, either by some trauma in the past like a childhood incident that left you feeling helpless or something that happened in later years like a betrayal by someone you once loved--and now you have to heal that emotional wound. Whatever happened to rob you of personal power, a disappointment in the loss of a cherished dream, it can be healed…if you’ll decide that you won’t accept anything less than the reemergence of your own magnificence. If you question your own right to be powerful, magnificent, effulgent, living with radiant splendor, it’s time to remember the words of Marianne Williamson. “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You're a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” You're not your mind and body, you're much more than a name, and you're far greater than your personality--you're a sovereign soul, here to live in the grandeur of your fondest dream for yourself. Let others say what they will, shun their shallow opinions of who you can be and what you can do. Remember to stand in your own glory, a glory that belongs to all sovereign souls. You're here on this planet for only one reason--to express yourself without fear, inhibition, doubt. Consider anything less as unacceptable. Your life is all about the energy you live in, it’s about the ebb and flow of this unique energy, this expression of life called YOU. Your personal power is all about how you choose to view, interpret, and experience what you're attracting into your life with your vibrations. Imagine claiming your personal power and living larger than you've ever dreamed possible. Imagine the joy, the rush, of living without doubt as to who you are and what you can do. Here are three simple steps you can take today. 1. As soon as you wake up in the morning, look in the mirror and say, “I love who I am just as I am. I choose to live in the magnificence I imagine for myself this day!” Then let the energy of that affirmation, that moment of self-validation, percolate through your being as you live out your day. 2. Identify what you love to do and make an inventory of who can help you do it, what you can do with it, where you can do it, when you can do it, why you can do it, and how you can do it. 3. Roll out the dream you established for yourself in step two with process goals, skill building tasks that you can do each day to bring out the best in you. Seize your personal power and live in the fullness of it. Make your life an epic, an adventure that stirs the soul of anyone fortunate enough to have known you.
