Landmarks On
The Road To Success

You’ll step on the road to success when you’re filled with divine discontent.

At this point, you’ll finally decide that it’s never too late to be the person you might have been, when you finally decide that enough is enough, when you finally decide that you’re done with desperation, loneliness, and poverty, and when you finally decide that you’re through with the poignant dramas, the recurring defeats, and the empty feeling within.

Realizing that there is more to life than the way we live it is not a common insight.

Few people understand that it takes a firm decision to be more, do more, and have more.

Few people take this road, because it’s never easy shunning mediocrity, it’s never easy reaching for excellence, and it’s never easy taking the road to success.

If you do take it your life will take a surprising turn.

If you do take it, it’s because you’re done with being in the wrong place doing the wrong things with the wrong people.

And if you do decide to change your life for the better, you’ll find yourself alone in this new intention. Because of your isolation, you’ll find a paucity of maps, a scarcity of guides, and a dearth of information on how to go about reinventing yourself.

Yet you will never be as alone as you may feel. Invisible hands will appear to gently show you the way to your greater life. You’ll discover, much to your surprise, that when your intentions to change your life for the better are clear, the methods of how to break away from your limiting experiences will appear.

On the road to success, you’ll come across 5 major landmarks.

Road To Success Landmark #1:
Resigning From Normality

Deciding to be who you always hoped to be is like resigning from your existing world. You will feel uncomfortable in what you used to believe were normal experiences. You will find yourself distancing yourself from the thought streams and emotional charges of your entire social network. In essence, you will be alert to the siren call of mediocrity, with its false promises of a life of endless distress.

On this road to your greater good, you’ll find few people; and, as you proceed, the numbers of like-hearted and like-minded souls shrinks even more. The further you go on your quest for personal excellence, honest self-expression, and liberated thinking, the more isolated you will become.

You may have heard that it’s lonely at the top, but you will also learn that it’s even lonelier at the bottom when you psychologically pull away from your unmotivated family, friends, and relatives. Few people will agree with your revolutionary view that life can be more than struggle and strife, pain and persecution, frustration and futility.

If you make it past this point, you’ll be ready to begin with an exercise that will accelerate your escape from the quotidian.

Road To Success Landmark #2:
Writing your Ideal Scene

A powerful exercise to discover your personal power is to write out a page or more about your ideal scene.

Just as computer software often evolves to newer and better upgrades, you can make the leap to a new version of yourself. You can make the leap to version 2 of yourself, a positive, proactive version; or, if you’re feeling brave enough, the quantum leap to version 3 of yourself, your ideal self who lives in an ideal scene.

In your ideal scene, write out

…your ideal mental, emotional, and physical states

…your ideal financial, relational, physical, educational, and spiritual experiences

…and your ideal car, house, and place of work.

Road To Success Landmark #3:
Affirming Your Best Life

After you’ve written out your ideal scene, you have three choices on what to do with it.

Your first choice is to read it aloud to yourself three times a day, upon awakening, midday, and in the evening.

Your second choice is to read it aloud to yourself three times a day AND write it out by hand. This adds a new level of intensity to your affirmations.

Your third is to read it aloud to yourself three times a day AND write it out by hand once a day JUST BEFORE bedtime. This method adds even more intensity because it lets you marinate the ideas in your sleep for eight hours.

Regardless of the method you choose, level one, level two, or level three, each method increasing in intensity, you’ll notice something interesting–you won’t believe a word of it and you’ll feel a strong urge to discontinue “this nonsense because it’s a waste of time…and it takes too much effort…and how do I know it works anyway…and there has to be an easier way.”

“Yeah, right!” will be your initial response after reading your affirmation script. This die-hard skepticism may last up to 12 or more sessions. Each reading or writing session will confirm the futility of what you’re doing. Your resistance will appear insurmountable and invincible.

Then, one day, a day that may appear as ordinary as any other, something magical happens. One day, you say, “Yes, that’s right!” One day, you’ll believe it, and your inner vision will appear more real than your outer vision.

Once you start to believe in the vision of your future magnificence, something else now happens.

Road To Success Landmark #4:
Handling Your Ambiguous Results

You’ll notice two contradictory phenomenon.

One phenomenon is that your favorite electronic things will mysteriously give up the ghost: cars, hair dryers, electric toothbrushes, food blenders, and washing or drying machines. Sturdy tools that you thought you could rely on for the rest of your life snap in your hands and appliances guaranteed to outlive future generations will no longer respond no matter how many times you stab the start button.

Your mind, too, will appear to have fizzled out: you’ll be haunted by ancient memories, incensed by small mishaps, and discover new dimensions to absent-mindedness.

The other phenomenon is that unexpected miracles will appear. Unexpected people will show up, long-forgotten disappointment will transform into successful materialization, and the Universe will download into your mind scraps of enlightenment.

What is happening is that you’re in transition: burying the old psychic world and discovering possibilities once reserved only for your wildest imaginings.

Beyond this point, you’ll exit the familiar.

Road To Success Landmark #5:
Challenging Your Assumptions

After your positive and negative fields of attraction settle down, you’ll break free of the gravitational field of your old world.

Although the world as you know it will continue to do its usual thing, your response will be completely different. Wayne Dyer captured this stage best when he said, “When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”

Now, adrift in a realm of infinite possibilities, new themes will appear, new choices will show, and a new courage to live in a bigger, better, bolder way will make the images in your ideal scene appear in three-dimensional space.
